Team CF Endurance Events

Team CF Superhero Events
So many people helped join events to make this our most successful year yet, we had friends and family running for Dean at the Shamrock Shuffle, the Palos Half Marathon, the Team CF Superhero 5K, the Chicago Marathon, the Edwards half and full marathon and a fun turkey day run. We had friends biking for Dean at the CF Cycle for Life in both Illinois and Colorado and climbing for Dean at the Climb for Life in Chicago. In 2014, Cali has asked us to set up a page for her as she took on 3 new challenges this year, an 8k, a 5k and a stair climb. She raised over $3,000 from these events!

Dimes for Dean
Once again this year, Peace Community Preschool held a service project to collect coins through the month of March to donate to our fundraising campaign. We are blessed to be a part of such a wonderful, giving community are thank God for each of the teachers, staff, Board and especially the children that put everything into finding and bringing in their coins for Dean. These little ones (and their parents) were amazing and raised $755! Thank you for helping us work toward our immediate goal of raising money with our long term goal of finding a cure for CF.
Assembled Products Stepping it up for Dean
Assembled Products again this year kicked off our fundraising efforts by selecting the CFF as the recipient of their wellness challenge. Groups of employees throughout AP (and other companies under the Jason, Inc. umbrella) spent 6 weeks wearing pedometers and stepping toward their health. The average of the group was computed and the top teams "won" money for the charity of their choice. 3 of the 5 groups at AP chose our cause and it warms our heart to realize how much of an impact a little guy can make on so many. The generosity of these individuals, their commitment, time, energy and love mean so much to us. The hope we have increases when we realize how many people support and understand that everything can make a difference. Thank you AP and Jason, Inc. for making a huge impact on our lives and in the lives of 70,000 CFers worldwide!
Fruit Punch Sales!

Little Mia hands us a bag of money the day of her 9th birthday party. When asked what it was, she told me I sold some fruit punch to raise money for Dean. *sob* Thanks Mia for thinking of Dean and for the letter!

They had a Pool Tournament, Donor Wall of Recognition and a Silent Auction and raised $1,000 that will go towards their walk on June 10. Thank you to Marie for chairing this fundraiser, to her committee (Angela, Deb & Rob) that helped gather basket items, drum up awareness and pull off this event. Charity Garage Sale
A wonderful family rallied the community and hosted a charity garage sale in July with proceeds donated to Charity. CFwas one of the receipients of their generosity. Their hard work, time, energy and giving helped raise another $190 for CF. Thank you Ms. Laura, Bradshaws and all the friends that donated and helped at the sale. We appreciate your hard work and generosity.
Dimes for DeanThe kindess and generosity of the families at Peace Community Preschool is overwhelming to us. Throughout the month of March, the 8 classes made it their goal to collect dimes to donate to our 2012 Fundraising campaign. In 31 short days, approximately 120 students and their families collected an amazing $1,310. We are so very thankful for each and every child, family and the staff and Board of Peace for their help in raising money to find a cure for Dean. Play the slideshow to see some pics of the kids and their coins (and the dad that took the jar to work)! Thank you all for helping us add tomorrows.

CF Madness Raffle
Our first successful raffle sales ended and each day in March 2012, one lucky winner won $50 based on the Illinois Lottery Pick 3 EVENING drawing number. It was exciting to see who won each day and a huge thank you to Kim for organizing and to everyone for helping to sell them! What a great way to raise money!
Lemonade for a CureThe kids are big fans of lemonade and making money from it. On St. Patrick's Day weekend, and during an unusually warm spell in March in Chicagoland, the kids on the block hosted a lemonade stand, complete with pink lemonade and green food dye to celebrate the Irish! After 2 hours and $12 later, they donated the money to find a cure for Dean. Enjoy the pics!

A Great Big Thank You to Assembled Products for Stepping It Up for Dean!

Dean's Grandma works at Assembled Products and throughout August and September, as a wellness initiative, her company, sponsored a contest. They motivated their employees to form teams and take steps towards wellness. The team with the highest average number of steps, after 6 weeks, would win money for the charity of their choice. The team include some amazingly dedicated individuals, taking long walks, getting up at crazy hours of the morning to bike for hours before starting work (and then working a full day), taking walks during the lunch break, stepping for hours while watching the Bears play and the list goes on and on and on. 7,744,343 steps taken by 7 people over 6 weeks!!! That's over 26,000 steps per person per day! After all was said and done, Grandma's team came out on top and secured a phenomenal donation for the CFF! Words can't possibly convey the gratitude we have for the individuals who worked so hard to benefit our son and the others in this world afflicted by CF. The wager up for grabs at the beginning of the challenge was $1k. After hearing Dean's story and seeing the ultimate dedication of Dawn, Nick, Susana, Joe, John, Pete & Steve, the bosses all chipped in and raised the tally to $6,500! Thank you Assembled Products for joining us in the fight against CF!
